"AN ANNIVERSARY, A WESLEY, A BISHOP, A BAND .............. A GOOD TIME HAD BY ALL!"

      The Annual Meeting with John Wesley and the Summer Strummers was this week's main event.  The presence of Bishop William Boyd Grove (WV) as the chaplain for the week brought a warm, caring feeling to the House.  His leadership was evident in the way he tackled the controversial subject of homosexuality within the church;  no shouting, just conversation (how comforting).

JUGGLING ACT MESMERIZES THE UM HOUSE!

          Chaplain Ted Anderson displayed a wide variety of talents during his leadership of the UM House this past week.  As a former pastor at Hurlbut UM for 19 years, this week was a homecoming experience and the UM House was the beneficiary.

     Universal concerns: eliminating malaria in Africa, why does the Earth exist(?), what does it mean spiritually to be a global citizen (?) AND  remembering the past 125 years of the United Methodist House; these were the topics of discussion our residents wrestled with the first week of the '13 Season.
